AL LIEBERMAN

PHOTOGRAPHY

My avid interest in photography began in the turbulent 1960’s when I photographed the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

During that time I was awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

After many years of exploration and travel, my wife Arleen and I settled back in the Chicago area; began teaching, raised three children and we have now been blessed with eight grandchildren.

My photographs are included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the American Museum of the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.

The creation of the website was a learning experience and has given me an opportunity to organize my work and contemplate future creative paths.

This website is a work in progress and represents highlights from five decades of photographic endeavors; existing albums will be edited periodically and new albums will be added. I look forward to a dialogue on the blog page.
